On Wednesday 24th April 2013 Financial News hosted its Awards for Excellence in Legal Services, Europe 2013 at One Mayfair, London. The black tie event brought together the European legal services community in London to be honoured by Financial News and industry peers for excellence in their strategy and performance.
The Financial News Legal Awards recognised the leading lawyers practising in the world of corporate finance and capital markets in the UK. Whether working within financial institutions, asset managers, corporate or law firms, these lawyers demonstrated a commercial approach to advising on, and negotiating, often tricky legal issues, always with a view to getting the deal done in the most efficient manner possible. Financial News – with its extensive readership across the European financial services industry – is well placed to chart the increasing importance of the lawyer’s role in corporate finance, as risk management and regulatory compliance rises up the agenda of an increasingly demanding institutional client base.
The awards were judged by a panel of 47 high-profile in-house lawyers, investment bankers, fund managers and law firm partners, and highlighted the very best in a profession where innovation, creativity and business acumen have never been in greater demand.
